Washington D.C. Temple Ornament The Washington DThe Washington D. C. Temple is the 18th constructed temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. Dedicated in 1974, it was the first temple built by the church east of the Mississippi River since 1846. It's modern six spire design was intended to be similar in style and form to the Salt Lake Temple so that it would be easily recognized as a temple of the Church.
