"Brooklyn Bridge" by Henry Kallem, (Amer., 1912-1985) Chromolithograph from the same group andWoodcut, Ed. 100, 9 1 2 x 22, signed, titled and numbered in pencil, on thin cream wove japan paper, small discreet horizontal creases to sky, handling creases to margins from previous storage. Henry Kallem worked on the WPA in the late 1930's and later produced prints of and in both Provincetown and New York. Kallem's work embraced a bold expressionism and favored architectural subjects as this reductive vision of the great New York landmark attests.
