Key tasks and activities of the Department of Education


The Department of Education at the Institute of Mental Health, University “Reaviz” actively engages in training specialists in psychiatry and psychotherapy. The department’s work encompasses a wide range of educational programs aimed at both undergraduate (individualized education trajectories for 6th-year students of the Faculty of General Medicine within the framework of elective activities of the Student Academic Group) and postgraduate education.

The main goal of the Department is to prepare highly qualified professionals in the field of psychiatry and mental health who are capable of addressing modern complex challenges in routine clinical practice within both the public and private healthcare sectors.

 Key areas of activity:

  • Residency /Postgraduate Training in Psychiatry: This 2-years long program focuses on in-depth professional training for future specialists, equipping them with up-to-date knowledge and practical skills necessary for working in the field of psychiatry.
  • Continuous Medical Education (CME Courses): Programs of 144, 72, and 36 hours are offered, enabling specialists to update their knowledge, learn modern approaches, acquire practical skills for working with advanced technologies, study contemporary clinical guidelines for the treatment of mental and behavioral disorders, and get prepared for the state accreditation procedures.
  • Open Lectures by Russian Professors and International Scholars: As part of its educational activities, the department organizes keynote lectures with leading experts in psychiatry from Russia and international colleagues – members of the Experts & Advisory Board Council of the Institute of Mental Health.
  • Psychotherapy Workshops: Practical training is given special attention, including workshops that allow specialists to master modern psychotherapy methods and apply them in their daily practice.

Unique Educational Approaches

The Institute of Mental Health actively implements modern teaching technologies. In addition to traditional in-person formats, distance learning technologies and e-learning are utilized, including training within the framework of Continuous Medical Education (CME) in accordance with Russian Federation legislation.

The additional professional education programs are oriented toward particular practical training, helping attendees gain not only current knowledge but also skills in their chosen area of expertise.

This includes developing personalized patient care algorithms through comprehensive analysis of clinical cases and simulation scenarios, conducted alongside a team of psychiatrists, psychotherapists, psychopharmacology experts, and physicians.
